Nurse researchers at Florida Hospital work in partnership to inspire and cultivate the spirit of inquiry by promoting innovativeness in nursing practice and empowering nurses to make improvements in patient care as part of their professional responsibilities.

Working in collaboration with internal interdisciplinary partners and local colleges and universities, our team of nurse researchers operates within campus-level nursing research councils across the Florida Hospital system to provide frontline nurses with a forum for inquiry. Our research agenda encompasses the social environment, the clinical environment, and the quality and integrity of nursing-sensitive quality indicators and measures.  In addition to the Florida Hospital Nursing Research Residency Program, the department conducts research studies in the areas of:

•    Psychometric validation of instruments used to guide care decisions in various patient populations.
•    The influence of nursing care delivery practices on patient quality outcomes.
